No web service for listing custom fields on documents?

Postby sboucard@sodius.com » Wed Sep 04, 2019 10:55 am

Hello,
As a Polation administrator, I can define custom fields that applies to all document types (it doesn't seem I can restrict on which subset of document types I want those fields to be available though).
As a Java developer, I use SOAP APIs (so mainly the TrackerWebService class) to connect to Polarion and inspect information of a Polarion project. This allows me for example to list all types of work items and to list all custom fields available on those. Sadly it doesn't seem to provide a mean to list custom fields that applies to documents. So I can get values for custom fields set on a particular document instance, but not listing the custom fields in general and verify the administrator correctly defined the custom field I expect. Can someone confirm this observation or tell me if I missed such API?
Thanks,
Sebastien

Hello

Did you look at the Module section in the Webservice SDK?

https://almdemo.polarion.com/polarion/s ... rvice.html

getModuleByLocation(java.lang.String projectId, java.lang.String location) => Retrieves the Module/Document on the given location.

then ... use getCustomFields()

maybe this helps

best regards
